Breakfast and lunch at location of your choice (Cornell Dining locations and hours).
- 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Check-in and move-in at RPCC (2nd floor)
- 1:00 - 4:15 p.m. Volunteer led bus trip to the mall
- 2:30 - 5:45 p.m. Volunteer led bus trip to the mall
- 6:15 - 7:15 p.m. Dinner at North Star (Appel)
- 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Casino and Game Night at Appel Multipurpose Rooms
Sunday, August 14
- 8:00 - 9:15 a.m. Breakfast at Toni Morrison Hall
- 8:30 - 9:00 a.m. Late check-in at Kennedy Hall
- 9:30 - 11:40 a.m. Cornell Essentials: Immigration, Academic Integrity, Career Services, and More at Kennedy Hall- Call Auditorium
- 11:45 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Picnic lunch on the Ag Quad with mentors
- 1:30 - 4:00 p.m. Campus Scavenger Hunt starting on the Ag Quad
- 6:15 - 7:15 p.m. Dinner at North Star
- 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Sports, Games, and Bowling Night on North Campus
Monday, August 15
- 8:00 – 9:15 a.m. Breakfast at Toni Morrison Hall
- 9:35 – 10:30 a.m. Information Sessions on wellness, community spaces, inclusion, and more at 233 Plant Sciences
- 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Mentor sessions (mentors decide location)
- 12:30 - 3:45 p.m. Volunteer led bus trip to the mall
- 1:30 - 4:45 p.m. Volunteer led bus trip to the mall
Tuesday, August 16
- 11:15 a.m. – 3:30/4 p.m. Picnic at Taughannock Falls State Park. Be at RPCC at 11:15 am to catch the bus.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Prepare and Cornell first-year orientation?
Prepare is a pre-orientation program for incoming international undergraduate students. Prepare gives you a chance to meet other international students and get your bearings before you begin campus orientation activities and academic tasks.

Can I attend Prepare if I’m a graduate student?
Prepare is for undergraduates only. If you are an international graduate or professional student, you can attend International Graduate and Professional Student Orientation. In addition, be sure to check with the Graduate School and your field of study to see what other programs you can attend.
Can I attend Prepare if I’m an international transfer student?
Yes! Prepare is open to all new international first-year and transfer students.
Can I attend Prepare if I’m an American who has been living abroad?
American students who have been living abroad and would like extra time to adjust to life in the United States are welcome to attend Prepare.
