Orientation Options

Welcome to Cornell!

The Office of Global Learning’s International Services team is here to help you settle in and find out what you need to know to succeed at Cornell. We offer several pre-orientation and orientation options for international students. We look forward to meeting you!

Prepare for Undergraduates

Prepare is the Office of Global Learning's preorientation program for incoming international undergraduates. You’ll learn about the U.S. academic system, Cornell's student life and traditions, and campus opportunities for the international community. Prepare takes place annually in August, during the week before Cornell's new student orientation.

Orientation for Graduate and Professional Students

Our international graduate and professional student orientation takes place biannually in August (just before the start of the fall semester) and January (just before the start of the spring semester). This half-day orientation covers a variety of topics: U.S. immigration and tax, transitioning to a new academic culture, academic expectations, health and safety, and more.
