Welcome to Cornell!
The Office of Global Learning’s International Services team is here to help you settle in and find out what you need to know to succeed at Cornell. We offer several pre-orientation and orientation options for international students. We look forward to meeting you!
New International Student Orientation is January 16.
New and transferring international students are invited to an informal orientation, where you can meet Office Of Global Learning immigration advisors, learn about how your immigration status impacts things you might want to do around campus and in the States (study requirements, work possibilities, etc.) and enjoy some light refreshments. Drop in any time between 1:30 and 5:00 in the Willard Straight Hall Art Gallery, Room 413.
Prepare is in August 2020.
Incoming undergraduate international students are strongly encouraged to arrive in Ithaca four days before the university's new student orientation in order to participate in Prepare, the international pre-orientation program.
This program provides travel-weary students with an early start on their Cornell experience. During these four days, participants will obtain resources to meet the challenges of adjusting to college life in the United States, and they also will have the opportunity to make new friends with students from all over the world.
Fall Orientation for international graduate and professional students is in August 2020.
Come and meet other new international students and receive a warm welcome from the International Services team. Spouses and partners of students are also encouraged to attend this orientation.
Following the orientation, there will also be a reception and International Student Organization Fair. Enjoy light refreshments and meet other new students while you browse and learn about the variety of student organizations and activities at Cornell.
Make-up Orientation for undergraduates and graduate students will be offered in late August 2020.
